Father, You instructed us to pray for those in authority, and we lift up Barack Obama. We pray that our new president will abide under that same covering. We extend the common honor to Obama that has been ascribed to all in his position.

Father, we ask You to reveal Your Son Jesus to our new president as the only way to God. We ask You to cause him to have a Saul-to-Paul experience. Deliver him and let him experience a genuine new birth in his spirit. God, deal with our president about the innocent bloodshed of the unborn and the sanctity of marriage. Open doors for true prophets to speak to Obama in the White House.

We bind the ministry of psychics, the teaching of black liberation theology, and every New Age and secular humanist doctrine away from the White House. Lord, we come against every stronghold that keeps the president from the truth. We break every soul tie and vow that has been established between him and Harvard, secret societies and the illuminati.

Lord, help us to build up the walls around our nation that were destroyed during the recent presidential election. We pray that our enemies will not launch a sneak attack on us while we are distracted. Wake up the sleeping church. Let us make supplication, prayers and intercession, and give thanks for all men, especially all who are in authority over us, so that we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in America, in godliness and honesty (see 1 Tim. 2:1-2)."

I have to agree with Burt, but perhaps for different reasons. Before the election, one of the women at a prayer meeting I was attending brought a copy of a prayer.

Hugh Hewitt put my thoughts so much better than I ever could in his book 'The Embarrassed Believer'.

"If we ever take God seriously in this country--really, really take God seriously--imagine the changes that would follow. None of them would be compelled by law, mind you. That is a bogeyman invented by the enemies of belief: the idea of an absolutist preacher-pastor-president banning beer and banking and barbecues. No, any changes would be compelled not by law but by a serious belief in the necessity of personal obedience to a God who demands what He has always demanded. If that obedience became generalized, the changes would be momentous. Which is why opponents of those changes must fight tooth and nail against the resurrection of belief." page 11

 John Adams made it clear: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

John Adams also said that "The Revolution was effected before the War commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments of their duties and obligations. This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people, was the real American Revolution."

The basis of true conservatism is a belief in, and a commitment to,the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Apart from that belief in God, there is no basis for conservatism. Man is either controlled internally based on his relationship with God, or externally by the force of the state. That's why anarchy always leads to dictatorship.

As John Adams said, our constitution, our American way of life, and the courage to defend that way of life depends on a moral people, made moral because of their relationship to, and dependence on, God.

When a person tries to reason with a liberal blogger on this site, one has to keep in mind the investment they have in their own world view. It's all they have. Without it and without God, they are left with nothing. They are nothing. Existentialism, which would say that you create your own meaning by the choices you make inevitably leads to despair. And despair is impossible to live with.

David Horowitz clearly points this out in 'Radical Son - A Generational Odyssey'. He writes: "What my family longed for, was an impossible fantasy: that mankind would be released from history, which included individual success and failure; their ambition was that poverty and inequality would disappear from the earth. To realize this fantasy they dedicated themselves to the Communist cause."

"The socialist vision provided the only way I knew of looking at the world that would distinguish right from wrong that gave hope for a better future. Socialism was the desire for justice. I did not see how I could give that up."

"We thought of ourselves as self-effacing, but in fact we were arrogant. We regarded ourselves as better than others from our privileged caste who were unwilling to perform the deeds we did. That was why we didn't listen and couldn't see. Like all radicals, we were intoxicated by our own virtue."


But there is a way. For them and for our leaders in Washington. The way of the Damascus road, whereby once blinded by the revelation of Jesus Christ Himself, they are finally able to see the truth -- about Him about themselves, and about the world around them. It comes through prayer. Our prayer. It takes the revelation of God Himself to change a godless world view. Until that happens, the only answer we'll get to a rational argument is 'Yeah, But'. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Thanks for the advice on "Will America Survive?" by E.G. White. I've had it in my library for years. The 1988 copyright. Haven't read it yet. I have scanned it. Opened it up at various places and read paragraphs. Overall, I like what she has written. It looks like an excellent history of the Christian church and a fearsome warning; even though I'm not a Seventh Day Adventist.

"The same destructive power exercised by holy angels when God commands, will be exercised by evil angels when He permits. There are forces now ready, and only waiting the divine permission, to spread desolation everywhere. Those who honor the law of God have been accused of bringing judgments upon the world, and they will be regarded as the cause of the fearful convulsions of nature and the strife and bloodshed among men that are filling the earth with woe. The power attending the last warning has enraged the wicked; their anger is kindled against all who have received the message, and Satan will excite to still greater intensity the spirit of hatred and persecution." page 596

My concern about the coming fearful judgment is the reason that I keep focusing on the Christian message and on 2 Chronicles 7:14.

God is merciful. But He is also holy and He has laid out His plan of salvation both for individuals and for nations. His name is Jesus.

My son, who's 21, never ceases to amaze me. I'm just beginning to know him. His entire life, he's wanted to be a rock and roll star. His group won several local battles of the bands while he was in high school.

Last August, he told me that he wanted to get some meaning in his life. That he thought more deeply than most of his friends. And that he was thinking more about God. I shined it on, thinking to myself that everyone thinks they are a deep thinker.

About a week later, he heard an ad on one of his hard rock radio stations about a church for people who didn't like going to church. He's been going ever since and is the lead guitarist for their worship team.

But the books he's reading is what truly impresses me. One of the ones he brought home from the library is 'The Embarrassed Believer' by Hugh Hewitt.

Hugh writes: "Embarrassment is not a rare phenomenon. And anyone who has decided to seek God seriously runs into the embarrassment wall early on in the process. The sidelong glance, the half-smile, the shaking head--these are the marks of mirth."

The scorn of the unbeliever can be frightening. It silenced Peter before the crucifixion. He denied Jesus three times rather than be thought 'one of those'. It silences many of us today. But in allowing fear of scorn to silence us, we lose the ability to serve as salt and light in our culture. Unbelief begins to look monolithic.

If we are truly to counteract those who are undermining this country, we need to be bold in our witness to the truth. Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 14:6

He also said: "I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God's angels. But anyone who denies me here on earth will be denied before God's angels." Luke 12:8-9

Part of David Horowitz's awakening as related in 'Radical Son - A Generational Odyssey' was the realization that the mainstream media isn't interested in the truth. As he writes: "The responsibility of progressive journalists was to suppress facts that hurt the progressive cause, and to print only those truths that served it."

I'm just an average citizen, but in just a couple of weeks I was able to find out enough about Barack Obama to know his presidency would be deeply dangerous to our welfare as a nation. If you haven't already, click on 'my name and look over 'A Vet Looks at Barack Obama' under Featured Posts. And in reference to this column - pay particular attention to the entries under 'Financial Crisis'.

The truth was there, the press wasn't interested in it. The truth is still there, and it's being manifested more clearly each day. The question is how much damage will be done by the radical leftists and conservative wimps in our government? Will we have our own 'Crystal Night'? The actions of our president and national leaders in instigating mob action against the AIG executives would say: Yes we will. It was, after all, a Republican, Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa who told the AIG executives that they should 'either resign or commit suicide'.

As Thomas says "The real point is to pander to envy and resentment against people who make a lot of money. Envy is always referred to by its political alias, "social justice."

And class warfare, whether during the French Revolution, or the Russian revolution, or any other class based revolution, has never had a good end. Mob rule leads only to dictatorship. I don't know how bad things will get. Only God knows. I do know He has given His solution. 2 Chronicles 7:14

God has said that when He's about to judge a nation: "I will give children to be their princes, And babes shall rule over them." Isaiah 3:4 NKJV "For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed. Therefore the Lord will have no joy in their young men, Nor have mercy on their fatherless and widows; For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, And every mouth speaks folly." Isaiah 9:16-17

Can there be any doubt when we look at the foolishness of our leaders and of those, including some of those who comment on this site, that God's words through Isaiah are being fulfilled in our nation? We've ceased to look to God for our salvation. We're looking to our guns, or our tea-parties or our dissent. The devil's happy with whatever we do, as long as we don't look to God for His wisdom and mercy.

To quote Leonard Ravenhill in 'America is Too Young to Die' "The Greatest Single Threat to America Today is God." page 52

And we can't look to God secondarily. We can't decide on what we are going to do and then look to Him to bless it. We, each one of us as individuals and as a nation, need to humble ourselves before Him, seek His face, seek His wisdom, seek His way, seek His mercy, and walk in obedience to His holiness. Then perhaps the hand of judgment will be stayed. 2 Chronicles 7:14

We need to pray for our leaders; that they have the same kind of Damascus road experience that transformed the apostle Paul. We need to pray that God gives them wisdom and righteous guidance. We can't write them off simply because of their obvious wickedness, hypocrisy, and foolishness. Sad to say, God has given us the leaders we deserve.

The Lord is good but, there's a mental darkness that afflicts those who turn their backs on God.

When the people of a nation rejects God, they open themselves to enslavement by something or someone else. Read Ali Sina's "Understanding Obama: The Making of a Fuehrer".

Another way to say the same thing was by McCandlish Phillips in 1970 in 'The Bible, The Supernatural, and the Jews': "The first step in the satanic takeover of a nation is to draw people away from faith in God and in His Word. The next stage is to increase them steadily in the indulgence of sin. The third stage is to lead them into false worship and false supernaturalism. The final stage is usually to bring them under dictatorship."

We can watch it happen or we can pray.

I'm reminded of a prayer meeting I was in a few months ago. The daughter of the house we were meeting in is a Senior at a Christian high school. She was talking about the revival happening among the students at the school and about how some of the faculty and administration were afraid of it trying to stop it.

We can't equate Christian faith and a true relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, or with His only begotten Son, with the institutional church. A person can be a member, or a leader of the institutional church, and not have that 'born again' experience. In which case that person is part of the problem.

But Christianity is not lived in isolation. It's the body of Christ. The living stones melded together by the Holy Spirit into one living organism with Jesus Christ as the head. There are still good churches throughout this nation. If you are not part of one, find it and join it. Find a church where the Bible is taught as the infallible, living, inspired Word of God himself.

And, as a Pentecostal, I'll say that if you can find one which believes in and manifests the love of God flowing through the body in the power of the Holy Spirit -- all the better. Looking at what God has done and is doing among some of the youth of this nation, I can say that He is raising up a mighty army of young people who will serve as His light against the darkness that would otherwise engulf this nation.

Usually, I'm as annoyed with Kathleen's columns as any of the other conservatives on this site. I'd give her a one also. This one I'd give a three. I thinks she's beginning to be set free from her blindness to Obama and his true character and the character of this congress.

She wrote: "Despite civic rage and political blame -- even death threats aimed at business executives -- there is a carnival air of unseriousness and grotesquery loose upon the land. Life has become one grand, comic burlesque, a vaudevillian game show...the president hits the late-night circuit in the midst of crisis. Obama's appearance on Jay Leno's show Thursday night...is symptomatic of a broader blending of the serious and the comic that makes sane people feel slightly displaced. ...but is this any way to live?"

It was that spirit of frivolity in the midst of crisis that was the base of my comment about Obama's Wednesday night parties reminding me about the 'Masque of the Red Death' by Edgar Allen Poe.

The fact that Kathleen is beginning to be aware of it means there's hope that she may yet be set free from the hypnosis of Obama's self-love (narcissism). It means there's hope for her and hope for us as a nation as more and more Americans see him for who he truly is and are set free. He and congress then won't be able to divert Americans by bogus scapegoats like the AIG executives. They won't be able to blame Bush. By God's grace, there won't be any repeat of Germany's 1938 'Crystal Night' here.

Left Angle is trying to pretend that he has the high moral ground. That StandHisGround and I are 'cowards' because we won't answer his bogus questions. The reason I haven't answered is because I just got back.

I referred him to my blog with the evidence upon which I base my opinions. He obviously hasn't looked at it. As for any threats or danger because of our 'libel', I had to deal with that before I began publishing the results of my research on Barack Obama. I laughed ruefully and said: "I am above the radar." The thing is, if I'm right about George Soros, Barack Obama, their allies, and their goals, then we are all in danger, both as a nation and as individuals.

I found Left Angle's rant interesting and hypocritical, if he's like most other liberals(radicals). If he is, then for him there is no such thing as truth. For him, truth is what furthers the radical agenda. A lie is anything else. That's why so many of them are so quick to label any opposing opinion as a 'lie' or 'dishonest'. That's why they create speech codes that only allow liberal speech. Everything else is a 'hate crime' or 'treason'.

I'm reading Ann Coulter's 'Slander'. It's amazing how accurately she pegs liberal tactics. And how little they've changed in the last seven years. Phony scandals, blatant misbehavior. If it's for the cause then it's honest and good.

Thus, Clinton-good, even if he is a rapist, because he's pro-abortion.
Bush='Hitler', Bush lied -- because the war against Islamic terrorism didn't further the liberal agenda.
New York times betraying national security secrets - good because it furthers the liberal agenda.

A 'true' liberal isn't interested in the truth. They've rejected God, who is the foundation of all truth. Everything else is simply an inevitable outcome of that first rejection. So, when they ask for evidence, they aren't really asking. They simply want to label us as dishonest, or ignorant, or 'treasonous'. If Left Angle, or any other of the liberals on this site, is at all interested in the truth about Barack Obama click on my name. There's all the evidence anyone could ask for.

Or read David Horowitz's "Unholy Alliance" or "The Shadow Party". The evidence is there. There just has to be a willingness to see it.

I appreciate the kind word and the chastisement. I've said the same thing myself in some of my comments. A couple of things though.

First, there's always the hope that some glimmer of truth might get through. There's the hope that they are sincere in their ignorance and that their hearts aren't so seared that they are purposely writing the things they write - knowing and believing them to be lies.

2 Corinthians 3:14 and 4:4 are two verses that describe their condition. "But the people's minds were hardened, and...the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ." "Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe."

So, in a way you are right, 'Liberalism is a mental disorder' in so much as they, in their present state have a delusional view of reality. But, until I was 25, I shared that delusional state. And I know that with God's grace and mercy, it can be broken. Their minds can be freed from Satan's grasp. They can potentially know the love of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Then, what I've just written will no longer be gibberish to them.

Besides, I think there was an element of just wanting to tweak them a bit. Shame on me.

Finally, it is a learning opportunity for those of us who love God and our country and want God's blessing on our nation. Liberal lies are so rampant in this nation, in the schools, in the mass media, in Hollywood, in our culture, that there's always the possibility that some of their delusions may begin to impact what we think. Thus, my little object lesson about the slandering of Robert Bork.

Hal just proved my point. He saw absolutely nothing wrong with Edward Kennedy's libelous attack against Robert Bork. He did see something wrong with Ann Coulter's using it as an example of liberal tactics. Open your eyes Hal and perhaps your heart. Let the truth in. Take the blinders off.

The current attack against Rush Limbaugh is simply another dishonest liberal tactic. He probably sees nothing wrong with that either. If a dishonest attack furthers the liberal agenda, that makes it an honest attack. If an honest reply hinders the liberal agenda, that makes it dishonest. I think that's the rules for liberals. That's my understanding of Saul Alinsky's rules for radicals. The end justifies the means.

I'm also currently reading 'The Tempting of America - The Political Seduction of the Law' by Robert H. Bork. It's obvious from reading the book that he was a principled, intelligent, judge. His only fault was that he didn't believe that the Constitution should be twisted to fit a particular political agenda - liberal or conservative. He believed the Constitution should mean what it was written to mean, nothing more, nothing less.

That didn't fit the liberal agenda, which was that if you couldn't get your agenda passed through a legislature, you had to have judges who would legislate from the bench. Forget the Constitution. It means only what a liberal judge says it means, in accordance with the liberal agenda. Robert Bork believed that the law applied to judges just as much as it did to common citizens. He didn't believe that judges were above the law. He didn't believe that judges should create law. For that he had to be libeled and destroyed.

After reading some of the liberal comments on this column I couldn't resist responding one more time.

I'm currently reading Ann Coulter's 'Slander'. I'm still in the first chapter and she wrote it in 2002. But, I've already been amazed more than once the accuracy of her characterization of liberals, their tactics, their manipulations, and their hateful attacks. They project their own immorality and hate onto those who would stand for righteousness within this nation.

Like Ann writes: "By contrast, hate is the coin of the realm for liberals at all levels of status, power, objectivity, and cache. There is no difference between the fanatical ravings of a foaming-at-the-mouth James Carville and the utterances of a United States senator. It's hard to believe that even they believe what they are writing. For the liberal, truth is irrelevant. Having rejected God, there is no longer any basis for truth. There is only the furtherance of an agenda. And that agenda is to make sure that God and His ways are rejected and insulted in this nation.

I can appreciate giving someone the benefit of the doubt as well as anyone. I gave Barack Obama the benefit of the doubt until I started researching him last October. He seemed like a good family man, a Christian. He'd gone to church for 20 years.

I may not have been real comfortable if I'd been sitting in his church; still a little too aggrieved by the sins of slavery for my white skin. But hey, slavery was wrong. Discrimination is wrong. And if blacks are still sensitive to their past place, or even sometimes their present place, in this society, that doesn't in itself disqualify them from holding a particular office - even the highest.

Then I read 'The Shadow Party' by David Horowitz and came to realize that behind Barack Obama was not only Bill Ayers, but George Soros and other leftist radicals who want nothing more than to see this country destroyed, so they can rebuild it as an 'open society'. Barack Obama does mean well. Bill Ayers meant well when he was blowing up buildings and planning to kill 25 million Americans. George Soros means well when he destroys economies. I was a sixties radical too. So was David Horowitz. We grew up. But a lot didn't. They still have utopian dreams and are willing to do anything to achieve those dreams. For them, the end justifies the means.

BTW. I was curious as to how much George Soros had made off this economic crisis. From Forbes.com I found out it's $2 billion so he's now worth $11 billion.

It's a question I first asked in my "Psychology and the Sexual Revolution" class in grad school at Cal State Northridge back in 1972 when the subject of abortion came up.

For me it was fairly simple. The embryo was alive. It was human life. It was an innocent human life. Therefore to kill it was murder. The only question was; what could possibly justify that murder?

For the liberal mindset, the convenience of the mom, avoiding damage to the planet, potential usefulness to society, avoiding embarrassment were all sufficient reasons for this murder.

That's because for a liberal anti-god mindset, there really is no special value to human life. We're just animals, dangerous animals. We got here by accident. It's up to us to control when and how we die. That's why euthanasia looks to have such a promising future, especially if Obama can succeed in nationalizing (rationing) health care. For the liberal, the fewer humans damaging this planet, and the other animal life on it, the better. I mean, that's just the logical conclusion for their anti-god world view or philosophy of life.

For those of us for whom, 'In the beginning God', human life has a special dignity because we're made in the image of God. He is the source. He ultimately controls the span of each human life, and to rebel against His control, as in the act of murder (abortion or euthanasia), is sin. It's to grieve Him because of His infinite love for each one of us.

But Obama and his allies are not our biggest threat. Neither is the economic collapse they are making sure not to waste. To quote Leonard Ravenhill in 'America is Too Young to Die' "The Greatest Single Threat to America Today is God." page 52 ...

I agree with Scott in principle. I would add though it's the moral foundation of those principles in the heart of a man or woman who fears God and walks with His integrity that makes the difference. Those principles have to be woven into the very fabric of an individual by His relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob if they are to have any real force or meaning.

They are wise principles. But wisdom, apart from God, is foolishness. The fool says in his heart; There is no God. That's why we see so much foolishness among Republican leaders. Their conservative principles aren't firmly rooted in their belief in, and relationship with, God.

It was the relationship that our founding fathers had with God and His grace that gave them the wisdom, the courage, the integrity, and the humility to win the Revolutionary War, write our Declaration of Independence, and our Constitution.

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. We've lost that fear. We fear Obama. We fear Islam. We fear the economic downturn. We fear losing our guns. We fear socialism. But God, He's our friend.

Leonard Ravenhill in "America Is Too Young To Die" listed the threats that faced America in 1979. Then he wrote that "The greatest single threat to America today is GOD." Joshua said: "...serve the Lord, for He is a holy and jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins. If you abandon the Lord and serve other gods, he will turn against you and destroy you, even though He has been so good to you." Joshua 24:19-20.

The slogan of the Church must be, 'We will give ourselves continually to prayer. and to the ministry of the word.' Every church needs a prayer meeting every night of the week right now. I've commented and blogged on Townhall about Barack Obama, about George Soros, about Bill Ayers, about Islamic Terrorism. I take these threats seriously. But I have to agree with Leonard Ravenhill when he writes that "The greatest single threat to America today is GOD." We can't continue mocking Him as a nation, committing abominations in His sight, rejecting His love, killing our pre-born infants, and etc. and survive as a nation.

Islam is a threat. Radical socialism is a threat. But only because we have turned our back on God, or at the very least, taken Him for granted.

I need to go to work, but first a word about prayer. Prayer, when it's done in the power of the Holy Spirit is not weak kneed or even passive. It's storming the gates of hell, protecting our troops, changing the minds of governors and governments. It's extremely subversive to a world system that is enslaved by the enemy of our souls. He hates it and does all he can to make sure it doesn't happen.

Norman Grubb wrote a book about Reese Howells and the power of his intercessory prayer during World War II. Reese Howells was one intercessor who truly knew and prayed in the power of the Living God. The miracle of Dunkirk and battle after battle whose outcome was changed by the prayer that under girded that battle.

War is hell. The devil loves war. He hates mankind and loves to see us destroying ourselves. Sometimes it's necessary because of humanity's fallen nature. It's just the way things are.

David Wilkerson has written: "I can only answer by sharing what the Holy Spirit is speaking to my own heart and what I am to do. I shared that I was led in a practical way to lay aside a month’s supply of food — because I have witnessed the panic in the wake of terrorism. That has to be a personal word for every individual."

I hate war with a passion - ever since I was in Vietnam and lost friends and classmates in that conflict. I didn't mean to be condescending when I mentioned Mark Twain's 'War Prayer' and it's taking of the 'glamour' out of war. What I did mean to say is that there is a cost to any armed conflict that needs to be counted before we lightly go off to war. I think 'Gone With the Wind' excellently shows the naivety with which war is too often and too lightly entered into. If you've read some of my other comments, then you know that I fully supported George Bush and the War against Islamic Terrorism. His big government economic policies not so much. We are at war. Too few realize it.

My bigger concern is where our military would stand. Each soldier has sworn to protect this country against foreign and domestic enemies. What would it do if the domestic enemies end up being the 'Commander in Chief', the executive branch, and Congress? I think Obama's mistrust of our military is part of the reason he want's a 'Civilian National Security Force' that's larger and better armed than our military.

I'm grateful for the military families in this nation. I'm saddened that it's our best youth that pay the ultimate price for the protection of the freedoms we enjoy.

But I see what is happening as part of God's judgment against an apostate nation. Just like I see the Civil War to be partly God's judgment against the sin of slavery. And all I'm saying is that if we truly want to defend our nation and take back the freedoms and the country that our founding fathers gave us, then God, prayer, and national repentance need to come first. And hopefully, if those of us who call ourselves by His name truly do repent, and humble ourselves, and turn from our own ways, and pray then He'll show His mercy. And it will never come to another civil war or revolution.

I don't like guns. I don't own one and I don't plan to own one. I understand the fear. But if Dutch Sheets, David Wilkerson, Kimberly Daniels, Leonard Ravenhill, Phil Bogosian and the other prophets through whom the Lord has spoken to this nation are right then guns and the battle of brother against brother and sister against sister will simply be part of the judgment.

I don't like a ra ra attitude towards the possibility of another civil war or another revolution. There were 600,000 men killed in our Civil War with untold human suffering and loss. Read up some time about the human cost paid by the signers of our Declaration of Independence.

Mark Twain wrote a short book 'The War Prayer' that he refused to have published until after he died. If you ever have a chance to read it, you'll understand why. It takes the glamor out of war. It takes the glamor out of armed conflict. There is a cost to be paid and it's an extremely high cost.

That's not to say that I'm unaware of the dire straits in which we find ourselves as a nation. George Soros, Bill Ayers, and Barack Obama are Marxists. Marxists wherever they have gained power have shown absolutely no hesitation in murdering anyone who opposed their policies. Bill Ayers, when he was head of the Weather Underground, was openly planning to kill 25 million Americans who couldn't be reeducated.

I said at last Sunday night's home group meeting that people were moving in two directions. Some were looking to guns and some were looking to prayer. I'm among those looking to prayer. If God isn't in whatever we do, then it's doomed to failure.

When I read what liberals (radical socialists) like Ed from Florida think about conservatives, I try to figure out where they are coming from. I give them the benefit of the doubt - that they actually believe what they writing and aren't just spouting garbage to get a rise from us. And I have to wonder what makes them so set in their blindness to reality and truth?

Reading 'Unholy Alliance - Radical Islam and the American Left' by David Horowitz helped a lot. Radicals consider conservatives to be defenders of the status quo; that is defenders of the monstrous capitalism and monstrous United States that currently exist. On page 109

Horowitz shows how they begin with three deeply held beliefs.
(1)America can do no right;
(2)even the rights America appears to do are wrong;
(3)these wrongs are monstrous.

So, of course anyone who would defend this monstrous reality is either blind, deceived, or themselves a monster. I can see so much of that mind set in the liberal trolls who haunt these comments. There really is no reasoning with them. Or arguing back. No amount of evidence will change their minds.

They need a Damascus Road experience akin to what the apostle Paul had in the first century; or akin to what David Horowitz had when a friend of his was murdered by the Black Panthers and none of his liberal friends cared.

As for George Bush, he was definitely not an economic conservative. So to set him up as an example of failed conservative policy is simply dumb.

As for Barack Obama, the Democrats, and George Soros; and their roles in the current economic crisis going back to at least 1995, read my 5:30 AM post.

The only reason there is even a debate about 'gay' marriage is because the Christian church has abdicated more and more of its social and moral responsibilities to a secular government that is basically hostile to God. The government wants to take God's place. And for an apostate 'Christian' church, that's perfectly ok.

That's always been true. Religion has either been at the right hand of government, helping to increase its power, or it is an adversary of government, demanding that authority which belongs only to God stays with God. Thus we have 'Christian' churches that are legitimizing 'gay' relationships, ordaining 'gay' bishops, and otherwise acknowledging the power of government to define marriage. For them, why shouldn't gay relationships be afforded the respectability and approval that comes with the word 'marriage'?

We have other 'Christian' churches that believe that marriage was defined by God in Genesis 2:24. "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." For those of us who believe that God has defined marriage as between a man and a woman, 'gay' marriage would be an abomination because it would be raising our fists against God Himself. It would be saying to Him: "Forget you, we know better."

It may be unfair. It may just be a projection of how I feel about Barack Obama in general. But, when I read about his Wednesday parties at the White House, it made me think about 'The Masque of the Red Death' by Edgar Allan Poe.

"The 'Red Death' had long devastated the country. No pestilence had ever been so fatal, or so hideous. Blood was its Avatar and its seal -- the redness and the horror of blood."

The attacks on Rush are simply to keep those outside distracted while the red death of socialism conquers all.

I agree. Before we make outrageous charges, we need the evidence, otherwise we simply become hate mongers like the liberals with Bush hate syndrome. But the evidence has been there for anyone who cares to look. Not that I think that's Rahm Emanuel. As far as I can tell, he's just a two bit player. A Chicago thug, and nothing more.

Andy Martin, after doing a survey of the twenty five year relationship between Bill Ayers and Barack Obama thought that electing Barack Obama would put Bill Ayers in defacto control of the United States government.

After reading 'The Shadow Party - How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party' by David Horowitz and Richad Poe, I don't think we can overestimate the role or the control of George Soros.

But, for me, the ultimate puppeteer behind all of these is the devil himself.

Back in 1970, a New York Times reporter, McCandlish Philips wrote in 'The Bible, the Supernatural, and the Jews': "The first step in the satanic takeover of a nation is to draw people away from faith in God and in His Word. The next stage is to increase them steadily in the indulgence of sin. The third stage is to lead them into false worship and false supernaturalism. The final stage is usually to bring them under dictatorship.We are in the third stage now."

We can pray. But it's not just for revival with the idea or hope that God continues blessing. So many of our prayers the last few years have been based on a heart of selfishness. Bless this nation God, so that we can continue to be comfortable. We want your continued blessing Lord. We just don't want to pay too high a price for it.

We're grateful that Jesus bore the cross so that we don't have to. Never mind that He said to pick up our cross daily and follow Him. Never mind that Paul rejoiced in the fellowship of His sufferings. We want His blessing. And now that it looks like He might be withdrawing it, we are scared stiff.

At last Sunday night's home fellowship, I said that I thought my comments might be having some impact. Some people were getting on their knees and some people were getting their guns. So I decided to first of all to get my own devotional life back in order. I was spending early mornings writing comments instead of fellowshipping with Him. Then I decided to focus my comments much more on the solution -- prayer and fellowship with God than on the problem, George Soros, Barack Obama, and liberal (radical) hatred for, and control of, our nation.

I truly believe that God wants to continue blessing us as a nation. But it sure isn't just for our comfort. Before anything else He wants us to be in a loving relationship with Him, humbly worshipping Him as our God and our Lord. Then He wants us to have His love for His world.

He's outlined His process for the redemption of a nation in 2 Chronicles 7:14: "Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land."

His people, who are called by His name. If we do that, then He'll do the rest. If we don't do that, none of our efforts will work.

There are good strong churches in New York City, and they do make a difference. Here is the story of one from their web site.

"In 1986, while walking down 42nd Street at midnight, Pastor David Wilkerson’s heart broke over what he saw. At that time, Times Square was populated mainly by prostitutes and pimps, runaways, drug addicts and hustlers, along with live peep shows and X-rated movie houses. Pastor David cried out for God to do something—anything—to help the physically destitute and spiritually dead people he saw."

"Recalling that life-changing night, Pastor David says, “I saw 9-, 10- and 11-year-old kids bombed on crack cocaine. I walked down 42nd Street and they were selling crack. Len Bias, the famous basketball player, had just died of a crack overdose, and the pusher was yelling, ‘Hey, I’ve got the stuff that killed Len.’ I wept and prayed, ‘God, you’ve got to raise up a testimony in this hellish place…The answer was not what I wanted to hear: ‘Well, you know the city. You’ve been here. You do it.’”

"Pastor David obeyed God. He opened Times Square Church in October of 1987 in Town Hall before moving it to its present location at the Mark Hellinger Theater."

Strong churches where the members are acting as salt and light within their communities make a big difference in God's ability to bless that community.

When I first became a Christian I worked for almost two years as a counselor in a Christian halfway house. The leader of the house was one of the most sensitive persons I've ever known to the voice of the Lord. And I watched miracles happen as we prayed. He later went on to be Director of Church Mobilization for the U.S. Center for World Missions in Pasadena under C. Peter Wagner. Then he was transferred to Manila in the Philippines to head up its International Adopt-A-People Campaign.

In 1989 he gave a prophecy in which he said that because of the disobedience of the American church there would be judgment. "Since you use almost all the money I give you on big church buildings, big homes and fine things for yourselves, I am getting ready to plunge you into severe financial distress."

"Since you do not teach your young people to give their lives to reach the world, they will be taken from you by the world. They will be useless to Me and a great grief to you."

"But you will say to Me, 'Lord, these are severe judgments.' I say to you if you had a son whose brother was drowning in the sea, and the son had the means to save his brother, but simply preferred to enjoy himself on the shore, would you not deal severely with that son? Is he not guilty in the matter?"

He showed me an earlier version of the prophecy while visiting the church I was pastoring and asked me what I thought.
I told him it was scriptural. He replied that that didn't necessarily mean it was of the Holy Spirit. I couldn't answer his question. But it was scriptural. And like David Wilkerson said; we can know what God will do by what He has done.

God doesn't want our spirits crushed. He does want us humble before Him. And he does want us to be holy - as He is holy. In times when the people of a nation are hardening their hearts against Him and His way, God has always raised up prophets (not profits) to speak His word to the people that they might turn from ways that demand His judgment. This time is no different.

The first I'd like to mention is David Wilkerson. I read his 'Vision' many years ago. I didn't think too much of it. It really wasn't that relevant to where I was at that time. I think I may have been pastoring a church. And I had more immediate concerns.

In the introduction to Wilkerson's 'Set the Trumpet to Thy Mouth' Leonard Ravenhill (probably the foremost author on revival in the last century) wrote that 'God has made him a watchman unto our nation'. I agree.

In 'America's Last Call - On the Brink of a Financial Holocaust' David Wilkerson says that "I've had no visions, dreams or special revelations -- and I reject outright all prophetic warnings that are not scripturally sound. Likewise, every reader of this book has an obligation to test what I've written here by the word of God. All true believers can know what the Lord is going to do, if they'll but take the time to search the scriptures and discover God's set patterns of judging sinful nations in the past... I urge you to read prayerfully...and rejoice in God's promises of faithfulness to his people in trying times."

The 'Vision' was republished as the 'The Vision and Beyond' in 2003. In it David says that he has only had two visions in his lifetime. The first was in 1958 which led to the founding of Teen Challenge. The second was in 1973. God proved the faithfulness of the first vision. We need to listen to the second.

It was obvious, once I'd done my homework 'A Vet Looks at Barack Obama' that an Obama presidency would remake America.

I didn't want to see this country made over under an anti-Christ leader. Anyone who can advocate the murder of newborn babies is against God and against Christ.

I didn't want to see this country made over under Sharia law. He advocated Sharia for Kenya under Odinga. If he thinks Sharia is good for Kenya, why not here?.

I didn't want to see this country made over under Bill Ayers as defacto head of this nation. (Read Andy Martin's profile.)

Those who would remake America under Obama begin with three deeply held beliefs.
(1)America can do no right;
(2)even the rights America appears to do are wrong;
(3)these wrongs are monstrous.

And for them, this horror called America, has been evil from the very beginning. Thus, to quote Obama, even the constitution is a 'deeply flawed' document.

America has chosen a messiah to make it over. With George Soros's blueprint he'll destroy it economically, militarily, and socially so we can start from scratch with an 'open society'. Read 'The Shadow Party' by David Horowitz.

Let's turn back to God before it's too late. Pray for Obama. Pray for this nation. Pray for our leaders. Pray for us.
